Print-in-Place Sundial Watch
Designed a 3D Printed watch that requires no support or assembly, and features parametric CAD to adjust to user's needs.
Overview
A print-in-place sundial watch made as an exercise in designing for 3D printing. Used formulas in the CAD to adjust linkages to fit user's wrist size, as well as adjust sundial to work for any latitude.
All parts (linkages, latch) can print without supports and no assembly is required. This is done by designing with the constraints of 3D printing in mind, using bridging and overhangs to my advantage.
It may not be the most useful creation, but I thought it'd be fun to have, and I learned a lot about how to optimize designs for 3D printing in the process.
